Tragedy

As many of us have already heard our country was struck again by another school shooting. This time at a elementary school in Connecticut and the shooter was a father of one of the children. It's stories like this that make you stop and wonder what the world is coming to. What kind of heartless bastard would do this. I think what really gets to me is that he was a parent himself. Many of us have children and are parents. There are so many things that have to go right for you to have a healthy child. It truly is a blessing and a gift to be able to carry a child, give birth, and have it be healthy. And as parents we should be working as a community to help take care of Em. We should be each others biggest supporters. A ear to listen when times are hard, a shoulder to cry on, a friend to laugh with etc.... We should be doing everything in our power to make sure our children along with the other children at our schools, pools, churches, sporting events etc... Are safe. And this dad just goes and takes any safety these families felt and ruins it for his own selfish reasons. To take the life of a innocent children, let alone many children is beyond words. To be so wrapped up in whatever it is that is going on in your life and feel like everyone else should pay is just disgusting. It sickens me to think that many of us send our kids to school everyday thinking they are going to be safe and in a split second your whole world could be shattered because of some asshole with a gun! This shouldn't be happening! I hope everyone with kids will hug them a little tighter, tell them you love them more often and be the best parent you can! These tragedies show us that life is short and you never know when something might happen. My heart breaks for all the families involved and I hope everyone keeps them in their thoughts and prayers! I am not going to pretend to know what they are going through but I do know it must be horrific and devastating! We as a country need to make these things end. We need to be able to know our kids are safe and that they can be kids! Today was another example that there are some sick people out there that will do anything no matter who they hurt in the process. It is disgusting to me to know people like that exist and I don't want my kids growing up in fear! Love your kids, hug your kids, kiss your kids and remember tonight when you tuck them in that these families wouldn't be able to do that anymore. Be grateful for what you have without forgetting the families who lost loved ones today!
