Most of us from highschool are married by now. Many of us have started having kids and some, like me, are done having kids. And some of us are about to married. But I wish people would realize that marriage, a good marriage taes work. Rob and I have been together since we were 18. Yeah that's 12 years! And it hasn't always been sunshine and roses. We have had our fights and our moments, but I also believe that in order to have a good relationship you need to be able to fight. You are not always going to agree on things. You are not always going to be in a good mood and you are going to take that out on the people closest to you. It happens, its life.
Clearly we make up after fighting( I think everyone knows making up is fun), but I am not afraid to stand up and speak for myself when I disagree with him.
Surprisingly that was/is one of the things that he first loved about me. HE had always dated women, well girls back then, that would never say anything to him, and then he met me. And I think we can all agree that I have a big mouth. And if I disagreed with something I let him know it.
I think it is good to challenge each other once in awhile. To let someone know, hey you are being a idiot. Dont get me wrong we don't fight all the time, but like any REAL couple we have our moments. Yet we have also been together so long because when we do fight we are able to talk about it and work through it. And that is HUGE in a marriage. If you can not have communication with someone how are you suppose to have a REAL relationship.
Marriage is great if you ask me. At times it is exhausting, but mostly it is very rewarding. It is great to feel loved by someone and know they love you just the way you are no matter what faults you have. Its great to sleep next to someone who you know who do anything for you to make you happy. Who would stand up and fight for you without you ever having to ask them. We are not a lovey dovey couple, in fact those people annoy the crap out of me. I figure if you constantly have to tell eachother that you love eachother you are saying it so you believe it. I know Rob loves me and when he tells me it means more to me because I am not hearing it 500 times a day. We don't feel the need to makeout in public all the time or constantly call eachother babe or hun. We do at times but we also use eachothers names.
There are so many amazing things that come from marriage. We have our 3 amazing kids, a house, nice cars, the ability for me to be home with the kids, amazing trips with just the 2 of us and with the kids as well. But mostly we have a love and respect for eachother that just gets stronger as the years go by.And no matter what life throws at us we will always fight for our marriage.
Fun little blog for family and friends to hear about our daily lives and what the kids and I do all day long. Also a place for me to complain if needed :)

Compliment!
I got a awesome parenting compliment yesterday. Someone told me that I should have a parenting column where people can ask em questions and I can give them advice. I thought it was very sweet...and would do it if I ever had a chance.
Am I perfect parent? No! But who is? Are my kids perfect? Hahaha! No, but I think they are very well rounded!I think I lucked out when it came to having kids because I already had so much experience with kids. Starting at 10 I was babysitting, Ive been a nanny and I have worked in preschools/daycares as well as coached gymnastics. Almost all of my jobs have been based around kids which really gave me a lot of knowledge when it came to having my own kids.
And I also think parenting really is a trial and error learning experience. With every kid you have you have more knowledge. The errors we made with Alex we did not make with Zach and Addie. And the errors we made with Zach we did not make with Addie. No one knows your kids better than you but I think it is nice to be able to get other ideas from moms, especially ones that have been through it. Parenting is not always easy and there are days when I want to pull my hair out, but in the end my kids are happy, healthy, and very comfortable with who they are and expressing their opinions so something I am doing is working.

Body Image
Since a lot of people have been writing about their bodies lately I figure I should jump on the bandwagon and talk about mine. I think most women in general have some type of body issue. Whether they think their boobs are to small, thighs are too fat,or have ugly feet etc...
I have body issues of my own. For those of you who knew me in hs(yes I know it was a loooong time ago) I had a great body. I was a size 2-4, I had a six pack, I had almost no fat and I still had big boobs as well. Now granted i did 4 sports in hs and I worked out about 4 hours a day,I still was fine with my body. But now I am about 60 lbs heavier than I was in hs. This has come from having 3 kids and 3 c-sections in 5 years, not watching what I eat, and maybe drinking a little too much in my college years. But mostly from being pregnant so much.
And I understand that I gain weight for a good reason, 3 of them really but I can not stand my body..mostly my stomach. I have lost some of the weight but lately I have gotten lazy. I have been skipping the gym, and being a little lazy on my px90 workouts.
So starting Monday things will change. I have decided to start swimming every night after Rob gets home as well as hitting the gym Monday-Friday for at least a hour in the morning. And it is back to my diet...lots of veggies and less meat. I gotta get my but in gear. Plus I want to kids to grow up healthy. Right now they are and Alex really loves to workout already, but I want to be a good example for them. So I will let you know how it goes. And if it seems like I am slacking feel free to call em fat and kick my ass to get me back on gear.

ANNOYING!!!
1. People who feel like I should spend my money on stupid shit just because they like to throw theirs away.
2. People who want to give me parenting advice when they can not handle their own child. Lets coddle a little less and try using some discipline and then maybe, just maybe, they will listen to you. FYI open ended threats are stupid...try timeout!
3. Girls that do not realize that they do not look good with a stomach hanging all over their pants and out in the open for people to see. Honey that's great that you have confidence but no one wants to see it and no you do not look good.
4. Idiots that have no problem talking behind everyones back and complaining no stop but can never say anything to someones face. Grow some balls and stand up for yourself or stop bitching about how you get walked all over.
5.Idiots that feel like just because they wasted their money on a BMW or Mercedes they rule the road! You could have bought a Honda for half the price, had the same engine and used the extra money for driving lessons!
6. People who say SAHM's do not work...come to my house for a week and see what I do and then tell me I do not work! I might not be making cash but I work 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week... and occasionally I get a date night!
7.Women who wear a bunch of makeup to the gym! If you want to find a date try match.com, or having a personality... the gym is for working out not trying to find the next guy you will sleep with.
8.Helicopter parents! When your kid is 25 and living at home and you are wondering where you went wrong I will tell you...for the minute they were born... Just because they fuss a little or there is a chance they might fall and scrap a knee doesn't mean you have to be all over them non stop every second of everyday. Let a kid be a kid!! That is how they learn to be independent!
9. How the hell does my husband put his head on the pillow and within 30 seconds he is snoring like crazy???? I can never fall asleep that fast and now it will take even longer because I have to keep kicking him until he stops snoring!
10. The people who will read this and automatically wonder if any of these pertains to them...if you wonder than they probably do..there I made it easy for you!

Lets beat the heat!
Like I said in my last post it has been HOT here in Chicago. A little too hot for the pool even...its disgusting outside. SO yesterday I decided to take the little ones to monkey bizness. It is perfect for their age and since Alex was in school( and a little too old for it) I thought it would be a fun change and a way to get some energy out. Needless to say the kids had a blast and were exhausted after! Here's a few pics from our morning.

Splash Pad!!!
It has been HOT HOT HOT here in Chicago these past few days. I mean disgustingly hot where you walk outside and feel like you need to shower again! So how do we beat the heat. The splash pad! Rob had class all last weekend so it was just the kids and me. We decided to meet up with Sarah and Elle and head over to the splash park by their house.

Addie looked as cute as could be in her bathing suit but the girl did not like the water...she got sprayed a little and was like "eff that I am out of here!"

she decided the rocks and sitting with me was much more entertaining!
As for the boys...well we all know that they love water and they had a BLAST!!!!

Alex loved waiting for the buckets to fill up and then having it dump on his head. He kept running back and forth...needless to say the water was very refreshing on the 100 degree day!
As for Zach...well he is a total water baby so this was right up his alley!

He loved scooping up the water and also running his trains through it! All in all it was a nice afternoon at the splash pad followed by some happy meals and a nice long nap for the little ones!

Adoption
Illinois has recently changed the adoption laws which means that people who were adopted through a closed adoption are now able to receive their original birth certificate and all medical information. You guys this is HUGE!!!!
For the last 30 years I have no nothing about my medical past. Every time I go to the doctor and they ask what runs in your family I have no idea and I just say I was adopted and do not know my medical history. It will be so nice to know if there is anything I should know about that could effect me.
I can also get my original birth certificate and on it I know my name is Caryn Elizabeth Weber. But it also has my biological parents name on it which means at some point I might be able to meet one or both of them and find out where I came from. I have a letter from my birth mom and I totally understand her decision. She was 17 as was my birth dad and they could not raise a child. And I think for all of us who watch teen mom and 16 and pregnant we know most if not all of those girls should have chosen adoption for their children. I was blessed to go to a great family and have anything I could have wanted as a child. I was given many opportunities that I know my birth parents could not have provided for me. And lets face it at 17 you are still a kid and a kid should not raise a kid!
But I am interested to meet them one day. To see who I look like ( I am guessing my birth mom), what characteristics I have of theirs, if I have any siblings r half siblings etc...
When you are adopted there are so many questions you have about your biological parents and for the longest time it has been impossible to get answers because it was a closed adoption and now there is a little hope. But I am also not getting my hopes up. There is a chance that my biological parents have decided they do not want their names released still and if that is the case than their names will not be on the birth certificate I get. And I understand that is their right and that might be their choice. But the cool thing is Sarah aka my twin and I might actually get to find out if we are related in some way. How crazy would that be. I mean look at us!

Every time we are out together people ask if we are sisters or related. We have gotten it since high school and I think we will always get that question so it would be nice to know if we are cousins or something. Anyways I will keep everyone posted on anything that happens. Keep positive thoughts!

another busy weekend
Its funny the difference kids make in your life when it comes to your ability to be lazt. When Rob and I were younger and it was a Saturday or Sunday afternoon there were many days where we would just lay around, figuring out if we wanted to do anything, and sometimes complainging about being bored. I would love one of those days again! As the kids get older our weekends seem to get more busy.
This one started off with a trip to the Dupage Childrens Museum to celebrate Colins first birthday. After some pizza, cake and presents the boys were more than ready to go play. We were only able to spend about a hour playing in the museum because we still had to get Addie home for a nap and I had a bunch of errands to run as well. But the kids were able to fill that hour with numerous activites and had a lot of fun. When my mom is here in a couple weeks we will be heading to the Kohls childrens museum for another fun day.
On Sunday I had a bridal expo to go to with my bff Kelly. Nothing like walking around with a million other brides in a hot hotel looking at wedding stuff. Right from there I was off to pick up all the boys, yes Rob is included in that, for yet another birthday party. This time it was for Ryan, aka Alexs best friend, and it was a afternoon of swimming and playing along with pizza and cake and presents. Alex and Ryan are crazy together and have a ton of fun and its fun to watch Zach want to do everything they do. By the time we got home it was almost 6:30 so I got Addie ready for bed and put her down so I could leave and go grocery shopping. When I got home it was time to get Zach in bed. And finally shower and relax right before 9. I was exhausted from running around all weekend, and being out late Saturday night with our friends. But the kids all had a blast and we filled it with lots of fun and friends so in the end it is worth being tired!

Fourth of July 2011
Wow..what a long and great weekend. We were down to only 2 kids, the boys, all weekend since Addie was on a mini vacation in Colorado, and it really did make a difference. Saturday was a low key day with a little swimming, cleaning and errands. Saturday night we had some friends over and Alex got hang out with Dan and Rob playing some golf on the wii.
Sunday we decided to take Zach and Alex to see Rango. It was Zach's first trip to the movie theater so we did not know how it would turn out. We invited Aaron, Sarah and Elle to come with and I have to say the kids did really well. They seemed to really like the movie and everyone sat really well during it which was awesome. After the movie we all went back to our house to hang out and let the kids play a little and have a dance party. By 10 pm I think we were all exhausted! Yes we are that old!
On Monday, aka my half birthday, it was another early morning and busy day. I was off by 8:15am to head over and drop some baby stuff off for Courtney. Then out shopping with Sarah to get all the goodies for fireworks later. We gave Zach a short nap and then headed to Aaron and Sarah's for so swimming and bbqing. My boys love the water. They are very much like their mom in the fact that they could swim for hours. It was Alex's first time being allowed to jump into the deep end(9ft) and he did really well. After a couple cannonballs he figured out how to dive in which was awesome. ( Once again just like his mom) After some fun swimming and sun we headed in to grill and eat before the fireworks.
Now we always do fireworks at TY Warner in Westmont. We park by the highschool and it works out perfect because there is a park right there for the kids to play at before the fireworks start. We also had glow sticks ( best 3 dollars ever spent)and sparklers! The boys had a blast running around, playing, seeing everyone and once the fireworks start they were happy. I think Alex was more interested in the glow sticks but Zach seemed to really like the fireworks.
All in all it was a great weekend and it was nice to spend time with just the boys. But it was also great to see Addie last night when she got home and I swear she grow a ft while she was gone!

And shes off!!!
Late last night Addie flew off to Colorado with my dad for her first trip out there. (if you don't count when I was pregnant with her) ( if you do than she has already been white water rafting)
The had a 9:55pm flight so we headed out to midway around 7:30. It was already passed Addies bedtime but we figured if we kept her up and she did not fall asleep in the car she would sleep on the plane. And guess what...it worked. My dad said she was a little fussy for the first 30 mins but then she just cuddled with her monkey(best 15 bucks I have ever spent) and passed out for the rest of the flight. My mom picked them up at the airport and Addie slept a little in the car on the way back to their house.
Once at the house my mom said she looked around a little and then started crying because she had no idea where she was. :( By poor little girl. But after a couple minutes and a few hugs from grandpa and she was fine.
I have talked to them this morning and all I hear is Addie talking in the background. She is loving the one on one attention and all the new toys. I know she will have a blast and I will post pics as soon as they get back Monday night.
As for Rob and I we are going to enjoy our weekend with the boys. This means no butt wiping and no changing diapers...amazing i know!
