Will it ever end?

So Alex has had a little attitude problem going on about 2 years now. Everyone warned me about the terrible twos and that was a joke, Alex was an angel when he was 2! Then came 3. The HORRIBLE 3's!!!! And I figured at 4 he would be better. WRONG! Maybe 5? WRONG again! I really do not get this at all. Kindergarten has mellowed him a little to the point where some days he is so well behaved it is crazy but then he will do a 180 at some point in the week and be a demon! I don't know if it is because towards the end of the week he is tired from being up so early and so busy all week, or if he is trying to drive me insane! I think either one of those is a possibility.
And I know that I am not the only parent who has this issue. Apparently it is a big thing for kids around 4 to start having this attitude. And it always seems worse with the first born. I really think part of it is that Alex spent his first 3 years around mainly adults. I mean sure there were kids at daycare and some play dates, but mostly he was with Rob and me or his grandparents, our friends, or his aunts and uncles. So I think somewhere along the line he just assumed he was a adult as well.News flash Alex you are not! I really hope that Zach and Addie do not get this "attitude" problem since they have always had other kids around but we will see. And I hope it goes away soon. I mean the kid is almost 6, I know he knows better, I know he does not like being punished, but sadly he is just like me and knows how to push my buttons.
Rob on the other hand loves it. He tells me all the time how Alex is exactly like me and it is like watching me fight with a smaller version of myself! This is just something people never tell you when you have kids. They say to treasure the time because they grow up to fast... well I wish he would grow just a little faster so this stage would be over!

we are that couple!

Rob and I have been together since 99... thats 11 yrs for those of you who are bad at math! So the "honeymoon" phase has loooong passed and we do not feel the need to be all over each other in public, or hold hands, or express our feelings to each other non-stop. We know we love each other and that is all that matters. Now don't get me wrong, we hold hands and smack each others asses and all that other stuff but we have never been a really mushy couple..... until lately.
I don't know what happened or even when it started but we use to email during the day. Sometimes about the kids, or things we had going on, sometimes dirty emails ( hopefully IT never checks his work email) But now that Rob has figured out the fun on texting ( yes, it took him this long) we text during the day. And they are the mushy lovey dovey texts! The you are beautiful, or I love you, or can't wait to see you tonight, and of course the dirty ones as well. ( Once again hope IT doesn't check those on his work phone) Its just weird because we have never been THAT couple. And don;t get me wrong I don't mind it. I mean who doesn't want a random text during the day telling them they are hot :)Its just funny. So now we are one of the mushy icky couples that we always use to make fun off. Maybe you never really leave the " Honeymoon" phase it just comes and goes at certain periods in a relationship.

Downtown

So today we ventured downtown with all the kiddies to go to a little gathering after the marathon. Our friends Bill and Kelly came in from Vegas because Bill was running in the marathon. Now anyone with kids knows it is a little work to get out of the house to go somewhere. And the more kids you have the more work it is going places. 1 kid is a piece of cake, 2 kids is a little harder but you are not out numbered. 3 kids you are out numbered so it is a little bit of a juggling act.
We decided to take the train down because we knew the boys would LOVE it, and they did. So I decided to have Addie in the bjorn and Rob carried the stroller. Wasn't to bad. Once we got off the train we walked a little until we could grab a cab. Also not to bad, minus the 20 lb baby that had been strapped to me for over an hour and it was 85 degrees out. So we got a cab, got to where we were going and I decided to put Addie in the stroller and give her a snack. Go to grab the diaper bag, and ROb had left it in the cab. ( thanks dear) So now we are downtown with no diapers, bottles or snacks. Luckily we were able to give Addie Zachs sippy cup with some juice and some pretzals ( I always have something in my purse for emergencies :) )And we managed to make it through an afternoon with no meltdowns of an kind.
The boys had a BLAST playing with our friend Kelly. If they lived here I would have her babysit because they LOVED her! ( so Bill get a job here) Everyone had a nice time and we got to see freinds we almost never see. Plus since the little ones had no naps they passed right out by 6:30. Now if only Alex would fall asleep......

Fire Station

Today we took the kids to the fire station for their open house. The boys had a blast. Zach LOVES fire trucks so he was in heaven the whole time we were there. They got to sit in the trucks and pretend to drive them as well as dress up as fireman and run a little obsticle course. They also made buttons, got tattoos and did a fire safty course. Zach was hiliarious during it. He kept telling the fireman that he was 3 and also kept talking about the flower he had.And little Addelyn was very content just chilling in the stroller munching on her pretzals and taking it all in. We were there for about 2 hours and the little ones were worn out after. Overall a great Saturday.... busy but fun!

Gymnastics!

Well Alex has been doing a gymnastics class with one of his friends for a couple weeks now. I thought it might be something he would like since the boys love when I flip them around and Alex loves doing hansdstands, cartwheels and somersaults all over the house. And so far he LOVES it!!! Thats right LOVES it!!!! Its like a little mini-me, only hes a boy, but still. Now everyday when we walk to the bus stop he practices his handstands. He has also learned how to do a bridge so now I am working on back bends with him as well as kicking over from his bridge. It is starting to look like Addelyn might not be my only gymnast. Maybe we can get Zach on board as well and I will have a whole troop of little gymnast. I am sure Rob would LOVE that :)

October

Yesterday offically kicked off our busy October weekends. We did fall fest yesterday in Bensenville and the kids had a blast. I wish I had some pictures but of course the batteries to my camera died about 2 mins after we got there. But they got their faces painted, some balloon animals and went on some pny rides and other rides as well. It was a pretty good day minus the freezing cold weather! Up next we have the fire station open house, pumpkin farm, apple picking and boo in the zoo and of course trick or treating on Halloween. We also have my sister in laws wedding in about 2 weeks. I love that fall is here but this month is always jammed packed for us with all the kid stuff!
