Christmas 2010!

We have a had a great week for Christmas. Alex got to go to winter camp for a few days last week and all week this coming up week. We had some playdates and baked some cookies with friends, and ended it off with a very quiet Christmas eve at home watching a movie with the boys and eating apple pie. And of course Christmas. Alex is really really into it this year so he was counting down the days for at least a month and a half. He wrote his list out with my mom when she was here in October and mailed it to Santa and also left him some gifts under the tree. ( Which are now hidden in a closet)
This was Addies first Christmas and I don't think she quite knew what to think of it. We only got her a couple things because shes a baby and could care less, but we wanted her to have a couple girl things since our house is fully boy when it comes to toys.
Zach was in Thomas heaven. My parents got him more trains and Thomas books, we got him some huge Thomas things to go with the tracks and more trains, my brother got him more tracks and my mother in law got him some Thomas things as well. That boy was grinning from ear to ear everytime he opened a present.
As for Alex he had a variety of things he wanted. He really wanted a ball maker which my MIl got him, a magic set which I was told Santa brought him, but according to my discover card I paid for it, and he got a bunch of trucks. I think the coolest thing was the remote control truck and helicopter combo. He is doing really well flying it to and played with it for hours yesterday and today.Overall it was a great Christmas and I can not wait until next year!

Moments like this

Being a stay at home mom of 3 kids 5 and under can be tiring, stressful, hard, exhausting, hard work, painful, oh and did I meantion tiring or exhausting??? There are ALWAYS good moments and most days those outway the bad but sometimes there are just BAD days. But not matter what it is moments like this that make it all worth it.

Those were my kids tonight after opening their gifts from their aunt Kelly. They loves them, shared them and all had a great time!

Santa Santa Santa

Well we have a little over 2 weeks until Christmas and Alex can not wait. This year he is so into Santa it is crazy! We did the elf on the shelf last year and have brought it out again this year. The first day he saw it he went around the house getting books and toys and wrapping them for Santa and the elf. I of course forgot to hide them that night so a million questions came at me the next day about why the elf had not taken them. Which meant I had to come up with some little white lies to tell him. ( FYI when you are a parent it is okay to lie to your kids)
So I took them and hide them under my bed thinking he would not find them and of course he did. Another lie out of my mouth to him, but he bought it. Everyday at least 1927347889219 times he tells me how many days until Christmas, just to make sure I do not forget. Today he had his Christmas shop at school to get gifts for everyone and he was so excited he showed me everything right when he got home. He actually did pretty good. He got me a necklace, Addie a little tiger, Zach a little night light and well he got Rob goo. But he said that daddy has to share it with him.
I love how excited he is and I know I will love the look on his face when he opens his gifts but sometimes my ears need a break and so does my brain. I can only answer so many questions about Santa and his elves.... pretty soon I might run out of lies!

Museum trip

Today Rob and I took the boys to the Museum of Science and Industry with the boys. We left Addie at the house with my dad because we figured she probably would not get much out of it at 10 months. :) Needless to say the boys had a blast. For those of you who know Alex he LOVES science. He loves to make inventions and figure out different experiments so this was perfect for him. His favorite part was the climate area and learning all about storms, tornado's, hurricanes etc...

Zach's favorite was of course the trains and airplanes. He would have stayed there all day if we had let him. He loved watching them drive all around the tracks and going on the ones he could. He also loved the airplanes that were hanging and of course the water area. What little kids don't love playing in water :)

Overall it was a great day. The kids were passed out in the car about 10 minutes after we left. Alex is still talking about it and has asked me at lease ten times when we can go back. I see another trip in our future.
