Holidays

The holidays have started! With thanksgiving last week and Christmas coming soon we are starting all our traditions and making new ones. This year for thanksgiving my sister in law and I did all the cooking. We decided the new tradition will be the men entertaining the kids while the women cook. Very old fashion I know. Every year the day after thanksgiving we do our tree. I Am strong believer that you have to wait until after thanksgiving to do Christmas decorations. We talked my mother in law into keeping the boys over night on thanksgiving so the next morning we packed up all the kids coats, hats and gloves and headed to get the boys and our tree. That night we put up our tree and decorated with all the ornaments the kids have made over the years. Another favorite tradition of mine. I can't wait till the kids are older and my tree is just filled with ornaments they have Meade and all of them are dated. The elf on the shelf ( whom Alex named Carly) has also found her way back to our house. The kids love waking up every morning to find where the elf has been hiding. The boys have gotten their first message from Santa...thank you portable North Pole and are getting excited. This weekend we are going out to get them their Christmas pajamas.. Another tradition. And once it is closer to Christmas we will make cookies with Sarah and Elle...yet another tradition. All our shopping is done and I can not wait to see the kids faces on Christmas. And not to long after the oil days are over we go into birthday mode with my birthday, my mother in laws and zach and Addie's all in January. I can not wait! I love birthdays more than I love Christmas! Hope everyone else is enjoying the old days. And yay to Mother Nature for giving us warm weather this week!
